Meet Julie Creffield...
Speaker, Author, Strategist, Everyday Innovator
Julie Creffield is an award-winning international speaker, author and
innovation strategist whose work explores one big idea: Innovation is for EVERYONE.
From creativity and entrepreneurship to AI and emerging technology, Julie has
spent three decades making complex ideas accessible, practical and human.
She helps audiences see possibilities they may have missed,
challenge the assumptions holding them back and realise they
don’t need to be “innovation people” or technology experts to create meaningful change.
Just the right blend of information, ideation, & inspiration
Curiosity has always been her superpower...
Long before Julie knew the word “innovation”, she was doing it.
As a working-class girl growing up in East London, she was endlessly curious, interested in everything and regularly described as “too much”.
Too loud. Too curious. Too many ideas. Too many questions. It turned out those were pretty useful qualities.
Her early career in performing arts taught her how to read a room, tell stories and make ideas memorable.
Entrepreneurship taught her how to turn ideas into things people would actually buy.
Community building taught her that change happens faster when people feel part of something.
And three decades of working across business, creativity, innovation and technology have taught her perhaps the most important lesson of all:
The people closest to the problem are often the people best placed to innovate around it.

Profit. Purpose. Progress
Julie has never been particularly interested in innovation for innovation’s sake.
A shiny new piece of technology isn’t automatically progress. A more efficient process isn’t necessarily a better one. And just because something CAN be built doesn’t mean it SHOULD be.
Her work has always sat at the intersection of:
commercial value
social impact
human potential
and practical action.
Julie believes business can make money AND make a difference.
That technology should increase human agency rather than simply remove humans.
And that innovation should be judged not only by what it enables organisations to achieve, but by what it means for the people and communities affected.
That’s why social value, inclusion and ethics increasingly sit at the heart of her work around AI and emerging technology.
Funny as hell...serious ideas, but never a boring talk.
Julie takes her work seriously….however…
As an award-winning comedian with a background in performing arts, humour isn’t something Julie bolts onto a keynote afterwards.
It’s part of how she communicates.
Because audiences remember how you made them feel.
And complicated subjects like AI, innovation, change and ethics become much easier to engage with when nobody feels like they’re sitting through a corporate training video.
Expect stories.
Expect honesty.
Expect a little East London irreverence.
Do not expect 47 slides containing tiny diagrams.
That feels much more “you” and communicates a genuine speaking differentiator.
Let her share some of her hilarious characters from her working class upbringing, and stories of parenting her sassy daughter.
Working class roots, world class ideas.
Julie grew up in East London and became the first person in her family to go to university.
That background still shapes how she thinks about innovation.
Because if emerging technology only benefits people who already have money, confidence, connections, technical knowledge and access, it isn’t particularly transformative.
Julie’s passion is making ideas, opportunity and technology accessible to people who might otherwise assume:
“This isn’t for someone like me.”
It’s one reason she speaks about Everyday Innovation.
READY TO CREATE SOME EVERYDAY INNOVATORS?
Your people don’t need another speaker telling them that AI is changing the world.
They need someone who can help them understand what that means for them — and what they could do next.
Julie brings together three decades of creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation and human behaviour to create talks that are practical, provocative and unmistakably human.
